1 – Citrus Fruits
Some citrus fruits may not suit your baby’s stomach. It’s because some citrus fruits contain high acidity and high levels of vitamin C. The common citrus foods include oranges, pineapples and lemons etc. These citrus fruits can upset your baby’s stomach. That’s why it is advised to breastfeeding mums to first note the reaction of their baby to these fruits and either totally avoid or consume these fruits in limited amounts.
2 – Avoid Eating Too Much Dairy Products
Low-fat dairy foods are very important part of your breastfeeding diet. You should avoid eating dairy products in large amount while breastfeeding your baby. It’s because some babies can contract colic if their mums are eating too much dairy products.
3 – Avoid Mercury-Containing Fish
Mercury containing fishes are included in foods to avoid while breastfeeding. These fishes include mackerel, tilefish, swordfish and shark. Those fishes that contain high content of mercury are very harmful for not only your health but also for your baby’s health. While you are breastfeeding your baby, you should avoid consuming caffeine. Tea and coffee are two major sources of caffeine. You should either cut down on your daily caffeine consumption, or the better practice is to completely avoid hose things that contain caffeine. It’s because caffeine disturbs the sleep pattern of your baby and it can cause nervousness and irritability in your baby.

Some studies have shown that peanut consumption while breastfeeding put your baby at the risk of contracting peanut allergy in later life. However, more evidences are required to support these studies. Breastfeeding mums should limit their peanut consumption.
